Martha and Alex in potting shed

At our Federation Hub School, Chapel Haddlesey, we have been busy working in our school garden. The garden is having such a positive impact on the mental health and physical wellbeing of staff and pupils involved. We aim to teach the pupils horticultural skills, a healthy lifestyle, seed to fork and to simply enjoy to the outdoors. We aim for our garden to be sustainable and to use it all year round.  We are growing herbs, fruits and seasonal vegetables to be used for cookery club and in the school kitchen. To help with the upkeep, pupils are potting up extra plants and selling them to the local community to raise funds for equipment, compost and seeds.
