cross country runners

The Selby area final was run on Wednesday 9th October at Selby college and the federation was represented by twenty-three pupils across years 3 to 6, with a good mix of boys and girls.  All pupils performed to the best of their ability in some very hard races; the competition was tough with everyone reaching for that ‘top 8’ spot to represent Selby in the North Yorkshire Final. A special mention must go to Jack B from Barlow as he achieved one of the top 8 places mentioned above. He will now represent Selby and the federation on the 5th November at Dalby Forest near Pickering.

Darcy’s Mum volunteered to accompany the class and was proud of their behaviour and sent her comments to school, as follows:-

“I just wanted to get in touch to give my praise in writing to all the children in class 2.
I was asked to accompany the school to the cross country event at Holy Family School on Friday and what a pleasure it was. The children in class 2 behaved beautifully, despite being confined to the sports hal,l with lively schoolchildren from other participating schools.  It was so wonderful to see first-hand the positive impact the staff have had on the children at Barlow and as a parent so reassuring to know my child attends a school where good behaviour is common practice.”
Congratulations to Jack and well done to everyone else for showing such endurance whilst taking part in the cross country events.
