Class 1 spent a day with Mrs Seath, an Arts Specialist, working in small groups to devise vocal musical compositions, imitating the sounds of sea creatures to coincide with this term's theme 'The Natural World'. Using a combination of melodic harmony, rhythmic clapping and a variation of vocal sounds, the children created unique and ethereal under water soundscapes. The individual parts were structured to begin and end independently, formulating an introduction, a crescendo and an ending of each musical piece.
One group was filmed and rewarded team stars for their focus, effort and achievement.
In the time between rotating the groups the children decorated a variety of sea creatures to take home.
