We are delighted that our new Lodge is now complete for pastoral support at Chapel Haddlesey Primary. We are fortunate to have a team of trained pastoral support staff within the White Rose Federation that incorporates Chapel Haddlesey, Barlow and Burton Salmon Primary Schools.
The new outdoor provision at Chapel Haddlesey will benefit our pupils needing ELSA (emotional learning support assistant) time, special educational need provision, sessions with our therapy dog Twig and for all the children to enjoy! The Lodge provides a sense of calm and comfort for all children but the sensory elements of the Lodge particularly help those with special educational needs.
"It's wonderful to have a quiet working and sensory space for all children to use" said Miss Langhorn, Teaching Assistant and ELSA Lead at Chapel Haddlesey Primary. "The Lodge is on our school field, looking out onto the countryside and our children find the views of nature in our surrounding area peaceful'.
The school would like to thank CHAPS, the PTA, for providing funding for the Lodge and Mrs Brankley, a parent for driving forward the idea of the Lodge.
