As part of our World Sculptures topic in art this term, the children have learnt about the Terracotta army in China. Our class used clay to create our very own ‘Class 3 army’.
Noah B said: “In art, we have been doing sculpture. We have made a terracotta army out of clay. We used slip, a gluey substance made of water and clay, and a group of metal tools. We also did a lesson about the Moai statues on Easter Island.”
Noah T said: “To attach the head to the body we used slip, it is clay and water to make the texture, we used tools. Before we made them, we did a lot of research and practised in our sketch books. We used a variety of tools.
