Young Voices 2020

Due to popular demand, we have made a provisional booking to invite the KS2 children (years 3 to 6)
from across the federation to take part in the Young Voices concert at Sheffield Arena on Tuesday 7th
January 2020. All the children in year 2 to 6 will be learning the songs and actions in their weekly
singing lesson from next week.

The songs this year include a Frightfest medley, a Queen medley, REM, Phil Collins, a pop medley
and a Best of the West medley. As the Young Voices arena concert is only open to children in Year 3
to 6, we have considered how to showcase the fantastic songs to our Year 2 parents and also to any
other parents who cannot make the arena concert. We have decided to either incorporate some of
the songs into our Christmas concert or invite parents to watch a selection of the Young Voices songs
in a mini-concert in the hall.

The children will travel on a coach, leaving at around lunchtime; they spend the afternoon
rehearsing for the performance and have a packed lunch for tea in the venue. All children must
travel to and from the venue on the coach. Parents can attend the concert which starts at 7.00pm
and finishes around 9.15pm and tickets are around £20 per person. There is also an option to
purchase a t-shirt for your child to wear, which includes a small torch and wrist band – these are
priced at around £12.

If your child would like to attend the concert, please can you either complete the return slip
attached or email the school office with your request by Wednesday 25th September. We will then
be in a position to confirm final seat numbers to the arena. Please be aware that your Year 3 to 6
child can still attend the concert with school even if parents are not able to attend the concert as
spectators.
