The pupils across the federation of Barlow and Chapel Haddlesey Primary Schools launched their new times tables learning like true rock stars! Both schools have invested in a on line programme called Times Tables Rock Stars which enables our pupils to practise their times tables each morning to rock music. The challenge is on for them to complete as many calculations as they can within a set time and improvements are rewarded with on line credits for their own avatar. Mrs Lizzy Hugill, Maths Coordinator across both schools, said: “With the introduction from the DfE of a new multiplication tables check for year 4 pupils from next year, we are ahead of the game in delivering a fun activity to improve the outcomes for our pupils. They can take part in a daily challenge in school and log on at home to compete against their class mates, their parents and other children in the UK.”
